Setting Drawdown Limits

2 min. readlast update: 09.15.2026

📊How to Set a Drawdown

Once copy trading is active, you can configure drawdown protection as follows:

  1. Select Max Drawdown after copying a signal.
  2. Set a Warning Level — an alert will be sent when this threshold is reached.
  3. Set a Soft Stop — prevents any new copy trade instructions from being executed.
  4. Set a Hard Stop — closes all open trades associated with the copied signal.
  5. Select Agree to confirm your settings.

Your drawdown protection will be activated immediately.

⛔Copy Trading Interruption

Copy trading activity may be paused if your Soft Stop Max Drawdown level is reached.

This is a protective measure designed to limit further exposure.

To resume trading:

  • Reset your Max Drawdown, or
  • Deposit additional funds

🛠️Troubleshooting

  • The Warning Level must be set lower than the Soft Stop, and the Soft Stop must be set lower than the Hard Stop.

  • Drawdown levels are calculated using account equity, not account balance.

  • If you reset your drawdown, 0% will be recalculated based on your equity at the time of reset. Existing percentage levels do not need to be adjusted.

  • Drawdown limits automatically adjust as your equity changes, ensuring percentage thresholds remain aligned with your account value.

⚠️Important Considerations

Drawdown limits are a risk management tool and do not eliminate the risk of loss. You remain solely responsible for all trading decisions, including whether to copy signals and how to configure drawdown thresholds.
